Yes Prime Minister: The Computer Game (C64/DOS, Oxford Digital Enterprises, 1987/1988)
The game of the British comedy TV series. You can play it in your browser here, and read a digital manual for the C64 version here. For the DOS version, assume all disks are already inserted.
Tip: Sir Humphrey is the Cabinet Secretary. The protagonist, Prime Minister Jim Hacker, loves finishing his sentences.

Airplane Mode
The video game market is far wider than it has ever been. If someone were to ask what the target market was for video games in the 1990s, most people would respond, “Elementary and teenage boys,” and the games being made reflected that. Now, however, the market has become so broad that it essentially includes everybody, and the games being made today reflect that as well. You can see it in the existence of games such as Powerwash Simulator and American Truck Simulator. There’s seemingly a game for every audience, about nearly every theme. So perhaps it was only a matter of time before someone decided to create Airplane Mode, a game about… being a passenger in an airplane.

Building Dreams, One Loop at a Time: Why I’m Obsessed with RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch 🎢
Tumblr media
Comfort Gaming Eps. 1
There’s something magical about designing a theme park, and RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch brings all the nostalgia of the classic game into the palm of your hand. It’s not just a game—it’s my little digital escape, where I get to unleash my inner theme park architect and create a world of fun and chaos (mostly chaos, let’s be honest 😆).
Tumblr media
Why I Love It
First, let’s talk about customization. This game lets you design everything. From wild roller coasters with smooth loops to adorable little food stalls that look like they came straight out of a Pinterest board, every detail is in your control. Want a park full of cute kiddie rides and cotton candy? Done. Prefer high-speed thrill rides and spooky haunted attractions? Go for it. The freedom to create feels endless.
That said– since this is the mobile version, it’s not as complex as the original PC games. Unfortunately, that means no truly chaotic roller coasters sending guests flying to gone (a small tragedy, I know 💀). But you can still design some pretty exciting safe rides, which is probably for the best.
Tumblr media
The Gameplay Vibes 🎠
What keeps me coming back is how satisfying it is to see my park come alive. Visitors wander through my perfectly paved paths, screaming on rides, buying overpriced burgers (sorry, but I need those funds rolling in 💸), and even leaving little feedback about what they like—or don’t. There’s something oddly rewarding about making virtual people happy (or at least entertained).
And then there are the events! Seasonal challenges, limited-time attractions, and fun missions keep the gameplay fresh. Halloween haunted houses? Yes, please. A winter wonderland theme? Say less.
Tumblr media
A Little Nostalgia Trip 🖥️
I grew up playing the original RollerCoaster Tycoon on my old, clunky computer, and it’s crazy how RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch manages to capture that same charm while being mobile-friendly. The graphics are bright, fun, and make your park look like a little cartoon dream. It’s simple, but that’s kind of what makes it perfect for casual play.
Tumblr media
The Best Part? 🎢
No two parks are alike. Every player’s creation is unique, reflecting their personality and imagination. It’s a fun little creative outlet for when I’m bored, stressed, or just need to procrastinate in a way that feels productive (because designing roller coasters should count as productivity, right?).
Tumblr media
Final Thoughts
If you love games that let you be creative, strategic, and just a little obsessed with perfection, RollerCoaster Tycoon Touch is definitely worth checking out. It’s an endless cycle of building, upgrading, and tweaking, and I love every second of it.
So if you’re ever looking for me, chances are I’m on my phone, adjusting paths, decorating my park, and making sure my roller coasters are just scary enough. 🎡✨

Smeaton lighthouse on the Eddystone Rocks
Tumblr media
Smeaton's lighthouse on the Eddystone Rocks, SSW off Plymouth Sound, as modelled in "The Weather Gage" simulation. The naval simulation takes place during the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. During that period the Smeaton Lighthouse was located on the Eddystone Rocks. In 1882, the upper part of Smeaton's Lighthouse was dismantled and rebuilt as a memorial to Smeaton on a new base on Plymouth Hoe
The HMS Surprise model is sailing in the background for scale comparison purpose (probably such a ship would not sail that close to these rocks in real life)
Below the plan of Smeaton's Lighthouse used as a reference to create the 3D modell
